1- The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has welcomed the decision of the World Bank and the IMF to forgive Somalia’s debt, and congratulated the Somali people.
2- Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre attended a large gathering and at the same time sent congratulations to the Somali people for the debt forgiveness to Somalia announced by the World Bank and the IMF.
3- The World Bank and the International Monetary Fund have jointly announced Somalia’s debt relief amounting to 4.5 billion dollars, which gives Somalia a great opportunity to interact with the world.
4- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a meeting with officials from the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington, D.C., and thanked them for their role in the historic victory of Somalia’s debt relief program.
5- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held a meeting with the Acting Assistant Secretary of State of the United States Mrs. Victoria Nuland, as they discussed the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of security and fighting terrorism.
6- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud chaired the Somalia Security Conference in New York, where the country’s security plan has been endorsed.
7- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received military experts from Turkey at the Presidential Palace in Mogadishu.
8- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud received credentials from the new Italian Ambassador to Somalia, Pier Mario Daccò Coppi.
9- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Dr. Hussein Sheikh Mohamud to be the Presidential Advisor for Constitutional Affairs.
10- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud appointed Dr. Abdirahman Maallin Abdullahi Badiyow as the President’s Adviser on Reconciliation.
11- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud participated in the 41st Extraordinary Summit of the IGAD Regional Body in Djibouti.
12- President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud welcomed the agreement reached on the election process of Puntland State.
13- President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud attended an event in Mogadishu to commemorate the decision of the Security Council to lift the arms embargo on Somalia.
14- The Speaker of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, Mr. Abdi Hashi Abdillahi, has chaired the joint meeting of the two houses that approved the 2024 Somalia budget.
15- Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre, who participated in the commemoration of the International Civil Aviation Day, pointed out that Somalia has made good progress in air management and aviation.
16- Prime Minister Hamsa Abdi Barre received the Swedish Ambassador to Somalia, Ambassador Joachim Waern in Mogadishu and discussed the relationship, cooperation and support that Sweden provides to Somalia.
17- The Cabinet has welcomed the decision of the UN Security Council to lift the arms embargo on Somalia.
18- Kenyan President William Ruto has received credentials from the new Somali Ambassador to Kenya Mr. Jibril Ibrahim Abdulle.
19- The IGAD Regional Organization has appointed Mr. Mohamed Abdi Waare as the Deputy Executive Secretary General of the IGAD Regional Organization.
20- The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia, Mr. Daud Aweis Jama, said that the appointment of the Deputy Secretary General of IGAD is a diplomatic success for the government of Somalia.
21- The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Mr. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and his Ethiopian counterpart, Mr. Abraham Belay, have signed in Addis Ababa a renewal of a memorandum of understanding on military cooperation.
22- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia Mr. Abshir Omar Jama held a meeting with the State Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Mr. Dr. Mohamed Abdulaziz Al-Khulaifi and discussed the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries.
23- The Minister of Interior, Federal and Reconciliation of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, made the 1st reading of the 2023 Refugee and Asylum Bill before the Upper House.
24- The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia Mr. Daud Aweis Jama received the Deputy Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in Somalia Ms. Anita Kiki Gbeho whose term serving in the country has come to an end.
25- The Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Somalia Mr. Daud Aweis Jama participated in the 26th Conference of Ministers of Tourism of the Arab League in Doha.
26- Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Somalia Dr. Ali Haji Adan participated in the 15th meeting between the Arab countries and Germany in the city of Manama in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
27- The Governor of Banadir Region and the Mayor of Mogadishu Mr. Yusuf Hussein Jimale (Madale) met with the Mayor of Doha Mr. Mansour Ajraan Al-Boeinin and discussed the renewal of the mutual agreement between Mogadishu and Doha.
28- More than 30 Kharijites Al Shabab were killed in a military operation carried out by the local forces in Harardhere District of Mudug region.
29- The Kharijites Al-Shabaab have fled some areas in the south of Mudug region.
30- The Shabelle River that flooded Jalalaqsi District in Hiran region has put the district in a state of isolation.
31- The Director General of the Ministry of Information of Somalia Mr. Abdullahi Hayir Duale, has opened a training for 36 journalists working in the national media and independent media on the verification of official sources of news, ethical principles and the safety of journalists.
32- The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia Mr. Abshir Omar Jama had a meeting with the Minister of International Development of Canada Mr. Ahmed Hussein in the city of Doha in Qatar.
33- The Somali government has implemented an educational project called Bar or Baro in the city of Moqokori in the Hiran region, which is one of the areas liberated from the Kharijites Al Shabab militants.
34- The Somali National Army has carried out a military operations against Al Shabab in Farag, Huyaley, Abagbeday, Dudumaale, Kojoor, and Eelgaras under Huddur District of Bakool Region.
